    Director Of Conservation
    National Aquarium In Baltimore 1997 - 2006
As the National Aquarium’s first director of conservation, I worked collaboratively across all departments and designed, directed, funded and measured the effectiveness of a wide range of field conservation and education programs, all of which linked directly to Aquarium exhibits and mission. We pioneered programs that blended large scale public involvement with applied conservation science in large-scale tidal marsh restoration, ecological aquaculture, rescue and rehabilitation of marine mammals and sea turtles, and removal of invasive species. We created international conservation programs to protect marine and terrestrial biodiversity through sustainable development and conservation, and built long-term partnerships across sectors. Internally, I contributed to the program master planning process for the National Aquarium Institute and oversaw the Aquarium Dive Program and vessel fleet, maintained strong relationships with elected officials, philanthropies, academic, private sector as well as governmental and non-governmental partners.
