I have been actively engaged in prairie conservation and sustainability education research for much of my career, with an emphasis on systems thinking and cultural adaptation. My recent projects have looked at how communities can use the ecomuseum model to foster sustainable community development, and how personal creativity can help people connect to nature. I have been focusing on the cultural and educational aspects of sustainability since the 1980s, when I was coordinator of the Global Change Program for the Royal Society of Canada.
