Mr. Miller is an accomplished emergency medical services, homeland security and health care emergency preparedness professional with over twenty years of experience in EMS, Healthcare Emergency Management, Public Safety, and Education. His background spans the public safety and health care continuum, including EMS, emergency management/emergency operations center experience, hazardous materials response, hospital emergency preparedness, fire service, and regional response and planning for large-scale disasters.Diverse experience developing and implementing a variety of public safety and homeland security systems educational programs including, but not limited to: emergency medical services; emergency management; health care emergency preparedness; hazardous materials; and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive, and emergency response.Skilled and experienced in maintaining sole responsibility for developing, executing, and providing direct oversight over diverse programs including full-scale, functional, and table-top exercise projects; administration of a critical emergency response agency; and management of a grant-funded health care emergency preparedness program.Mr. Miller's current position with the Texas A&M Engineering extension service focuses on the delivery of the "Pediatric Disaster Response and Emergency Preparedness" program (FEMA/DHS MGT-439). This course prepares students to effectively, appropriately, and safely plan for and respond to a disaster incident involving children, addressing the specific needs of pediatric patients in the event of a community based-incident including mass sheltering, pediatric-triage, reunification planning and pediatric decontamination considerations.
