Ever since high school, I've been asked and asked myself countless times what I wanted to pursue for a career. For as long as I could remember, video games have been a part of my life and something I always had a deep passion for. Whether it was trying to be the best player in a match, trying to understand a game's systems and mechanics in-depth, or simply playing to relax, I always turned to games in my free time. However, that was all video games were to me: something to do when I was free, an activity for fun. I was told I should only play them when I had free time, that I should focus more on something more worth learning, a thought that stuck in my head for a long time. After 6 years of bouncing between school and a job, as well as getting some more world experience and maturity under my belt, I asked myself the question again: what do I want to pursue? What do I have the passion to do for the rest of my life? It didn't take long for me to realize the obvious: it was video games!Upon making this realization, I immediately signed up for The Tech Academy's Game Developer coding bootcamp. In this bootcamp, I received courses and learned about many aspects of not only the game development industry, but the technology industry as a whole.I studied extensively on the Unity engine and C#, as well as Unreal Engine 4 and C++, with two fully completed projects during my time training. During these projects, I was also able to get experience in using version control and managing repositories through the use of GitHub. I was also trained to be proficient in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, for any potential web development projects that may make their way to me.I have always been a fast learner, as well as being always eager to learn more, whether it be about game engines or programming languages, or the games industry itself. I also consider myself extremely sociable and easy to work with. Should I join your team, not only will you be gaining a hard and eager worker, but someone that can keep the energy of a room bright and cheerful.I am incredibly excited to begin this journey that has been years in the making on my part, and I look forward to working with you soon.
