I develop innovative ways to look at the natural world while maintaining a mindset of scientific inquiry that allows me to continuously learn and understand natural systems while interpreting to diverse audiences. My passion for conservation is emphasized by the hands-on experiences and stewardship opportunities I bring to my community. In 2018 I embraced the role of STEM and School Outreach Coordinator for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and in 2021 I moved into the role of Environmental Interpreter. I develop, prepare and deliver STEM programming to grades Pre-K through 12th in addition to delivering adult nature programming. I have renovated the Discovery Loan Box program and increased FPDDC presence at STEM events and in classrooms across DuPage County. Interning at Fermilab transitioned into maintaining a civilian contract as an avian ecologist with the U.S. Department of Energy since 2014, monitoring bird populations and consulting on habitat management projects. My passion for bird conservation is shown in my role as the DuPage County Coordinator for the Bird Conservation Network’s Breeding Bird Survey and my past role as an elected two-term Director of the DuPage Birding Club. As a field trip leader for the DBC, I led over 80 public field trips from 2014-2019 including the novel 'Know Your Neighborhood' series.
