In-store, online and on-pack brand consolidation was some of the key initiatives I executed rapidly by stabilizing the portfolio to ensure improved success, making it easier for consumers to identify their specific brand, category, and products. Second was defining strategic milestones to address, identifying packaging, in-store and online initiatives, revamping all communications, allowing us to achieve an increased appeal with younger audiences.Operating in over 200 locations across the globe, we identified and targeted specific operational areas for improvement. We consolidated marketing and production requirements into a one-stop solution, achieved reduced waste, production, delivery, and costs, improving consistency and quality throughout our printed materials. We increased accuracy, consumer relevance, and consistency throughout the brand by integrating an automated PLM system to manage requests, revisions, and local market adaptation of package and print materials. I hosted a multi-agency summit that developed a robust, strategic foundation for the brand. Working collaboratively with the in-house global Creative Director, Strategist, and four external partners: Digital, Store, Packaging and Branding consultancies, we developed an holistic, strategic brand story and positioning. The summit meetings completely redefined consumer positioning, the brand profile, and the formation of an innovative brand platform for all brand communication, design and creative. -
Vice President Of CreativeKao Corporation 2009 - 2015Cincinnati, Ohio AreaWhen I joined Kao Brands, beyond the overall creative direction, I was also responsible for overhauling operational financials and reorganizing functional roles and responsibilities across a team of exceptional creatives recently blended by relocation and consolidation. Analyzing budgetary costs and identifying who was in what seat and why, I identified the attributes of each employee and aligned each role appropriately within the organization. Within three months, we achieved cost savings of $2.8 million from an original $8 million operating budget and revamped, revitalized and motivated the team with clear roles, responsibilities, and directives. With the creation of a new media production team, we were able to develop, distribute and manage licensed image assets across the globe, renegotiating media buyouts for six global brands, achieving ongoing annual savings of $500,000. On completion of the internal restructure, we examined our outside business partner relationships and procedures. The original artwork approval process took an average of 35-days to approve, working collaboratively with multiple cross-functional teams: Legal, Regulatory, Claims, Manufacturing, Global, Regional, and Marketing, we reduced the manual approval process to 10 days. Laser focused on continuous improvements, we then implemented a PLM system, digitizing and capturing comments, streamlining the approval process further down to three days. This final step netted a cost avoidance of over $1.2 million in operating costs, increasing innovation and marketing capabilities, reducing the dependency on company-wide resources.The final frontier was a strategic rebrand across four major global brands encompassing positioning, branding, product portfolio and advertising. Through extensive collaboration, embedded creative strategists within marketing, aligning and attaining approval of global partners, we were able to successfully relaunch global projects to market within record time. -
