Playing a dual role as software developer and researcher, I have dived deep into the world of supercomputing. I have taken active part in several international projects with leading companies and research laboratories, from which I have got a keen understanding of high-end HPC systems and technologies, including aspects from architecture design, cluster computing, data-intensive processing, programming models and parallelism — all topics of top relevance behind large systems and services that require high availability, resilience, scalability and real time response. With the increasingly complex computing challenges, I see a specialization in Performance Analytics playing a crucial role in the development cycle, and so it has become my main area of expertise to design software that aids in detecting performance bottlenecks, suggest solutions and boost the performance of the applications. Adding intelligence to these tasks was the goal of my doctoral thesis. My line of research has focused on the application of machine learning techniques to mine valuable information from Big Data streams; a work that results in a stimulating blend of zest for getting my hands on cutting-edge computing technology, and a genuine interest for AI methods and applications.More on the hobby side, I feel a growing interest in exploring ways to bring my expertise on parallelism, performance analysis and optimization, closer to a lifelong passion for the gaming industry and the emergent VR technologies.
