I graduated from the University of Surrey with an Honours Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics in 2005 and went on to gain an MSc in Advanced Dietetic Practice in 2011. I have over 10 years of experience working as a dietitian in the NHS, 8 of which have specialised in the field of mental health and eating disorders.My role has also included;Working with clients who have a learning disability and providing nutrition training and advice for those who care for someone with a learning disability.Lecturing on the Postgraduate Sports and Nutrition Course at Coventry University.Providing nutrition training to a variety of audiences including carers, health professionals and to dietetic colleagues at the 2016 BDA Mental Health Conference.Ensuring catering standards are met within the NHS Trust in which I work and menu planning to meet a range of clinical, cultural and allergy needs.Providing group and individual education sessions to service usersPromoting good nutrition through media work including video information for the local CCG website and articles for newsletters and Dietetics TodayI believe that diet and mental health have a strong and reciprocal relationship. I enjoy supporting people to take an interest in how dietary change might support their mental and physical wellbeing alongside other treatments they may be undertaking. I am also passionate about supporting people to have a positive and healthful relationship with food and believe that this starts early in life.
