Responsible for project budgets in excess of $20M; direct leadership of geographically dispersed cross functional teams of 20 (engineering and business) and indirect management of a team of over 200; tasked with requirements definition, management of the development process, issue resolution, product qualification, manufacture and global deployment.- Subject matter expert in the delivery of complex, integrated mechanical, electrical and software products and solutions.- Experience built from initial hands-on technical delivery through to direct leadership across all engineering functions.- Expertise extends across all aspects of the product life-cycle (from concept to end of life).- Effective resource and budget management, risk management and effective reporting for programs that I am accountable.- Extensive experience in the outsourcing of product manufacture to third parties and OEMs.- Lead for programmes outside of the immediate Engineering function, e.g. the delivery of the Global RoHS programme.

Delivery of process excellence and technology to improve programme delivery to schedule, quality and budget.- Responsible for both the functional and technical project management of the Software and Electrical Engineering teams.- Total staff of 15, in addition to contract and off-shore resource as needed. Departmental budget in excess of $2M.- Turned around a failing software team by bringing predictability to the software development cycle;* Migrated from a waterfall to an iterative software development process, aligned to the overall development process.* Introduction of a modular hardware platform, simulating final production intent to replace previous rig controllers.* Earliest prototype code becomes production code; previously disregarded once proof of concept was complete.- Software processes and methodology subsequently adopted by all engineering teams within Pitney Bowes.

Effective technical leadership across all engineering disciplines to deliver innovative global products and solutions.- Lead Engineer with direct responsibility for the management of the Systems, Test and Compliance teams (12 staff).- Coordination and direction of all technical functions (Mechanical, Industrial Design, Electrical, Software, Compliance, Test, Service and Human Factors) to deliver product to agreed specification and programme success measures.- Responsible for the architectural and system design, all technical specifications, technology readiness, system integration, delivery to quality and reliability targets, compliance (safety, regulatory) and all technical issue resolution.

France

Technical leadership of diverse engineering teams to deliver best practice and business integration.- Leadership for a cross functional team of 6 French Engineers within a newly acquired French subsidiary to deliver a critical sub-system for a new product development. Awarded patent and demonstrated highest reliability levels of any Pitney Bowes product sub-system.- Crucially, my role was to integrate the French team into the UK and US based Engineering teams, ensuring common processes and tools and effective knowledge transfer through this development project.
