About Gilberto Hernandez
Howdy, I am a Data Analyst and Marine Corps veteran with a passion for working with numbers, finding patterns, and sharing information with others to make decisions. As a former math teacher, I taught for 9 years at the high school level. My love for numbers was shared with students to impress upon them the importance of understand the meaning behind numbers and to analyze situations to make informed decisions. I included in the curriculum Google Sheets, akin to Excel, teaching students how to build a database, use functions to calculate, and create visualizations.During my time within the Marine Corps, I had a plethora of different positions. common to them all was the use of Excel, cross-functional coordination, being a subject matter expert, provide analysis with recommendation to leadership, and regular presentations. I've worked in a multi-national organization, held leadership positions of teams of 6 up to an organization of 400+, and taught others in software systems, and mentored young leaders in processes. I found myself gravitating to data analytics because I love to solve problems and explain how numbers tell a story. Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau are some of my methods to write that story. I would love to be able to apply my skills to any non- or for-profit organization that looks to increase their efficiency by understanding their data.
Listed skills include Leadership, Management, Coordinating Activities, English And Spanish Languages, and 12 others.
