My formal education makes me a significant asset, but combined with an impressive set of multidisciplinary skills I am indispensable.I specialize in taking a holistic approach to aquatic ecosystem interactions, ecology, and aquatic health assessment - but my interests range broadly from micro-scale trophic interactions to cumulative effects and invasive species ecology. I am a Canadian Aquatic Biomonitoring Network (CABIN) Project Manager and certified Trainer with extensive experience conducting and instructing the CABIN protocol in British Columbia and Yukon. Recently I branched out into the exciting field of eDNA; spearheading assessment programs and building portable eDNA sampling kits from scratch.My general thirst for knowledge has resulted in a diverse base and the ability to interact with people from any background. I have a highly creative mind that is a rarity among scientists of my generation, evidenced by my excellent problem solving and adaptability.I am a hands-on, visual learner and I like to excel. Able to perform complicated tasks independently after very little instruction, I am unsatisfied with being average and consistently strive to operate at an expert level. I will always search for avenues to go above and beyond and foster efficiency, rarely accepting "good enough" as good enough.I have over 15 years of diverse professional experience across the fields of community engagement, high-paced scientific labs, field science, statistical modelling, technical advisory, and environmental project management. I have designed and implemented my own independent research, assisted with large-scale biomonitoring studies, and operate my own environmental consulting business.
