Primarily work on the acoustics requirements for the SLS Block 1B Universal Stage Adapter (USA). This work includes...- providing acoustic analyses of the SLS at liftoff and during ascent and determining whether or not the resulting loads pose a threat to the mission- designing, prototyping, and testing noise control treatments that could be used to attenuate dangerous acoustic levels within the USA- supporting spaceflight hardware testing by providing predictions and experimental (hands-on) support in both reverberant field acoustic testing and direct-field acoustic testing- managing ZIN's in-house acoustics lab, including management of the test schedule & design of the LabView VIs used to run the experiments. These VIs are robust programs that can control the experiment, acquire the desired data, and provide on-the-fly analysis while outputting all of the required data products. Have been working with NASA - particularly the Glenn Research Center, Marshall Space Flight Center, and Johnson Space Center - on several projects since working at ZIN. As one of the founding members of ZIN's acoustic group, my main focus right now is on analyzing the acoustics of the Universal Stage Adapter for the Space Launch System Block 1B. Served as an assistant to a research project that studied the dietary habits of Purple Martins in an attempt to establish an idea of the aeroecology of Southeast Oklahoma. Duties included setting up bird traps and barometric loggers, as well as monitoring nest activity and retrieving food samples from the nests.

Integral member of the alternative energy platform, where work was done to develop products using alternative energy harvesters. Tested multiple products for use within the platform for product development, such as chargers and solar panels. •Served as the project leader for the development of rechargeable solar lighting products for the One Million Lights. Coordinated donation of solar powered lanterns and lamps to several regions across the world, including Latin America and Africa, providing a method for the company to donate thousands of lights to families and business in need around the world.•Developed extensive network to facilitate innovation and implementation of new portable power and lighting products, a crucial part of strengthening the alternative energy platform and adding to its overall value to the company. While studying at the University of Toledo, researched various photovoltaic technologies. Support was also provided to fellow graduate and undergraduate students. Also taught undergraduate labs and course recitations. •Worked with cadmium selenide and lead sulfide nanocrystals•Created thin-film devices using the drop-casting and layer-by-layer methods.•Facilitated ligand exchange, enabling more ideal bandgaps of the nanocrystals.•Characterized nanocrystal properties using FTIR and UV-vis spectroscopy.•Applied electrochemical characterization of both thin-film photovoltaics and carbon nanotubes using methods such as cyclic voltammetry and capacitance-voltage profiling.•Collaborated with fellow graduate students and assisted with their projects.•Worked closely with an undergraduate, assisting in and enabling the fulfillment of goals for his summer research project, characterizing lead sulfide nanocrystals through cyclic voltammetry.

While studying at Miami University, researched the properties of metal-organic frameworks as a part of obtaining a Master’s degree. Also taught undergraduate labs for both physics majors and non-physics majors, as well as mentoring an undergraduate lab assistant.•Designed a system to measure the conductance of MOF samples over a range of temperatures and frequencies using contactless experimentation using dielectric measurements. The design exploited contactless dielectric measurements measured by placing the MOF within a unique capacitor attached to the end of an immersion probe, which was used to regulate temperature. •Contactless experimentation involved using an immersion probe which housed a specially designed capacitor unique to this experiment. •Discovered that the MOFs under study were not ionic conductors, but that they did exhibit two glass transitions, as supported by the existence of frequency dependent phase transitions that demonstrated T - ln(f) scaling. •Gained experience in designing equipment to suit the needs of current projects.

As an undergraduate assistant, worked closely with Dr. Jeff Clayhold and assisted in the development of his lab at Miami University and Brookhaven National Lab.•Worked with other undergraduate students and university faculty in designing a PCB interposer that is currently being used in the Brookhaven National Lab to expand the functionality of a device used to measure the Hall Effect of various samples.•Produced a printed circuit board (PCB) that could be used for testing the functionality of any subsequent PCBs designed for use in the lab.•Gained familiarity with Proteus' PCB prototyping software, ISIS and ARES, as well as with PCB manufacturing equipment.•Gained exposure to the Russian language.
