Gola is Co-founder & Director of ARC (www.arcworks.ca) whose mission is to “create space for authentic human exchange”. Gola’s current work is focused on respectful training/coaching and conflict transformation processes in workplace, institutional and community settings. As an ADR professional with a rich practice history, Gola is a highly specialized facilitator and advisor for organizations challenged by interpersonal/group conflict and change management. She deeply values discretion, confidentiality and models respect and care for all parties. Gola has served as an external trainer for the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission and external facilitator and trainer with the Halifax Regional Municipality to help establish resident “community mobilization” teams in communities at risk of or impacted by violence. Gola has also served as Lead of Sexual Violence Prevention & Response at the Nova Scotia Community College. In 2022, Gola joined the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission as the Manager of Dispute Resolution and led the intake and investigation team for the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission. In 2024, Gola was appointed as Director, Race Relations, Equity and Inclusion for the Commission. Gola has worked for a number of years to seed and cultivate restorative practices in criminal justice, community services and child welfare settings, schools, university and health sectors, workplace settings and in the medium of documentary film and theatre. Gola led the development of the Best Practice Standard for the Restorative Justice Program of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice. She has led innovative initiatives such as the development of a mental health court; restorative options for youth in group home settings, neighbourhood circle projects, and community conversations related to renewable energy initiatives. She holds a Master of Arts in Criminology from the University of Ottawa and a degree in Anthropology from Saint Mary’s University. Gola is a licensed Master Trainer of the International Institute of Restorative Practices. In 2012, Gola was recognized as a distinguished nominee for the National Ron Wiebe Award in Restorative Justice. In 2015, Gola was awarded a formal Yoga Teacher Certification & title of Yoga Siromani from the Sivananda Ashram at Val Morin. Gola is also a committed student of Advaita Vedanta, non-duality, and self inquiry.
