Profile bio

About Tanya Golitschenko

Living and working on Quandamooka, Yuggera, Jagera and Turrbal Country. My passion is designing public architecture for everyone, specifically Rail and Transport. I am currently the lead Architect on the Cross River Rail RIS and Cross River Rail Hope Island projects. The project adds a new 10.2 km rail line, with 5.9 km of twin tunnels unlocking the bottleneck under Brisbane River and the CBD. In addition to improving the region’s mobility network, the new station nodes are envisioned as an opportunity to catalyse urban renewal and precinct development.I have a particular passion for inclusive design and am proud of the close engagement our project has undertaken with Accessibility Reference Groups to understand the lived experience, to ensure that the future rail line and its stations can be used and enjoyed by all, delivering greater levels of mobility equity across the region. “Nothing about us without us” is the consultative approach being used on the project, and it sets the tone for the great work that has gone into securing Cross River Rail’s accessibility standards.Beyond the scope of my day job, I support and advocate for a number of causes in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion space including a leadership position within the NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction), as the Education and Mentoring Chair; driven by my belief that opportunities should be afforded to all regardless of gender, sexuality or any other distinguishing factor. I also sit on the Queensland Australian Institute of Architects Gender, Equity and Inclusion Committee as well as the National Australian Institute of Architects Gender, Equity and Inclusion Committee.I replicate that effort internally within Hassell, playing an active program and initiative lead role in both the Gender Equality and Talent / Staff development leadership as Hassell Implementation leader within the Champions of Change Coalition.I also volunteer as Treasurer of the Koala Action Group in the Redland City Council; in this role I utilise my professional skills as an Architect to assist in the education and legislative activities within the group. This includes working with all levels of government to improve environmental policies and undertake more considered developments.

Listed skills include Architectural Design, Architecture, Sketchup, Construction, and 31 others.
