Customer Care Platform: I led software delivery of our Customer Care Platform, where I initiated multiple programs to improve the availability and performance of our application, which is utilized daily by 50,000 agents. These initiatives ranged from resolving operational issues, such as networking bottlenecks, to broader efforts like implementing an Active/Active datastore, intelligent data caching, API fault tolerance, and re-writing inefficient portions of the application. These efforts were coordinated with a simultaneous redesign of the UI, a migration to a Cloud-based infrastructure, and were delivered without disrupting the pipeline of new business features.The delivery team under my lead consisted of over 200 geographically distributed Developers, Testers, PMs, Ops Engineers, Architects, and UX designers.As a result of the efforts, outages decreased by 85%, errors reduced by 81%, and load times improved by 40%.Retail Point of Sales: I led the design and implementation of a 3rd party POS system for our retail locations. The system consists of custom features and integration of peripheral devices; such as credit card readers, barcode scanners, and receipt printers. The system required integration into existing systems for Payment and Inventory management. Finally, a support and operations team was staffed to manage L1 & L2 issues. Once completed, a deployment team was established to install the software in our 200+ locations.Mobile Sales App: I led a DevOps team to design, build, and deploy an iOS app used by our internal sales teams to sell our products and services. This app provides a maximized user experience that walks users through a step-by-step flow of available products and configuration options. The wizard-like experience is completely driven by data provided by an orchestration layer, thus reducing the need for maintenance when data or underlying products and rates change. Today this application is used to submit over 1,000 orders daily.
