I serve as the Product Owner of a suite of more than 80 machine learning models and related data science products in our client’s AWS environment. The team I work on includes data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts. We build new models to support new use-cases and we maintain, refresh, and retrain more than 80 models for existing, on-going use-cases.We partner with the client’s marketing agencies to deliver predictions that power the client’s digital, email, and direct-mail marketing campaigns. In any given month, our models make billions of predictions about a myriad of future customer actions. My responsibilities on this team include: * managing our team’s backlog to ensure our team meets deadlines and focuses on highest-priority deliverables* consulting with internal and external business partners to understand business roadmaps and brainstorm how Data Science can help business teams meet their goals* performing hands-on data exploration using SQL and data visualization using Power BI * building and deploying Power BI apps that deliver insights to internal and external stakeholders* preparing materials and representing the team in meetings with stakeholders and other client scrum teamsAs an analyst for this client, projects I worked on include: - construction and deployment of machine-learning models that predict which customers are most likely to be in-market for various products and services - creation of unsupervised segmentation models that categorize customers into different cohorts based on the customers' interactions with my client - design and creation of Power BI dashboards to communicate how well our models perform and the business value the models deliver

On May 29, 2015 Horizon Lines was acquired by two competitors: The Pasha Group and Matson. I led the year-long transition of Horizon's Hawaii-centric IT systems to Pasha and Horizon's Alaska-centric systems to Matson. Successfully completing these transitions required: - creating many custom data extractions using t-SQL - consulting with acquiring companies' leadership to explain Horizon systems and business processes - helping the new companies' IT departments install Horizon software in new data centersThese exercises were completed in June 2016 and the Dallas IT center was successfully shut-down according to plan.

Led a team of 45 IT professionals and managed all aspects of IT application development for Horizon Lines, one of the nation's leading domestic ocean shipping companies.Implemented more than 80 projects in the Horizon Lines production environment. These projects covered all aspects of Horizon's business, including Customer Service, Operations, Finance, EDI, the corporate website (www.horizonlines.com), and various online self-service tools for Horizon's customers. Maintained and enhanced existing production software and consistently achieved a customer satisfaction rating over 98% in production support KPI's.

Created and executed scripts to test Handango.com as well as software written by Handango partners.

Customized and implemented proprietary ADVANTAGE Financial software for multi-billion dollar state and local government agencies.
