My background is as a programmer in C++, Java and VB, often working with databases like Oracle as back-end we would create scientific applications for chemists, researchers, pharmacologists etc. I have also worked as an independent web consultant where I specialised in the Joomla CMS. After that I spent some years in the salmon industry in Norway. With a background in biochemistry, bioinformatics, web, salmon production and now learning Data Science and Google Cloud Platform, I have an interesting mix of experience.In the course of my work I sometimes used web technologies like JSP and ASP. This wetted my appetite for web design. In 2005 I started my own web design company, and quickly decided to specialise in the Joomla Content Management System (CMS). I became an expert in setting up Joomla websites, which is built on PHP and mySQL. When I came back to Norway in 2009, I moved to my birthplace, which does not have a lot of the types of jobs I would be looking for. So I got into the fish farming industry. Since 2009 I worked in the production of salmon smolt (fresh water phase), being involved in most of the production apart from planning and managing. This involves tending to eggs, fry, and fish. Cleaning and disinfecting. Vaccinating. Transfering. Delivering to car or boat. Taking samples. Maintaing technical equipment. Early 2019 I went back into the IT industry, joining The Cloud People, where I trained in Google Cloud technologies. Certifications: Associate Cloud Engineer, Google Educator level 1
