My wife Kerrie and I owned and operated Safe N Sound Swimming. The company taught over one million swim lessons to Seattle's children over 35 years. Our wildly popular adventure camps hosted 800 kids ages 6-14 each summer. Our camp program earned the distinguished American Camp Association Accreditation. Also, taught year around lifeguard certification and certified pool operation (CPO) certification. We became an American Red Cross Authorized Provider and employed a National Swimming Pool Foundation Certified Instructor on staff.While President, I oversaw the day-to-day operations of our Safe N Sound facility, IT, marketing, advertising, finance, HR, and client experience departments. We employed between 50 and 75 employees throughout the year, generating approximately $2.5M in pre-covid revenues. We closed the business in 2022 after the building we rented suffered a significant structural failure resulting in an estimated 18-month repair-closure.

I was responsible for Amazon Mobile Retail product strategies and roadmap and oversaw the Product Management and User Design teams. I collaborated with engineers to define and prioritize features and functionality deployed to the Amazon.com website. Also, I partnered with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile to activate sold mobile devices on Amazon.com.While at Amazon, I became familiar with Agile product development methodologies and regularly participated in sprint scoping and stand-up meetings. I taught new product managers how to conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis to build an in-depth knowledge of the mobile market across the team. In addition, I was responsible for the end-to-end performance and talent management responsibilities of a 10-person team.

Led a team of 50 product planners creating the product portfolio for the Microsoft Business Division. Products included Office, Exchange, SharePoint, Project, Vision, and Lync. Key Results and areas of responsibility include:• Researched and identified market opportunities and presented billion-dollar recommendations to the division’s president, including content management investments in SharePoint and role-based office products (Office for HR, Office for Finance, etc.)• Hosted the Office Advisory Council comprising 200 IT Professionals from Fortune 100 organizations.• Partnered across the company to define the product planning discipline and establish performance standards for the role.• Cultivated business partnerships to build lasting relationships with internal and external constituents.• Conducted research and studied customer needs and desires to incorporate into product requirements.• Key contributor to the Office visioning process and documentation.
