I have over 35 years’ experience of senior business leadership, with MD, CEO and Board roles in manufacturing, construction and engineering advisory sectors working in complex, global businesses. My early career was spent at KPMG, latterly as Partner.I improve business performance, achieve profitable growth and value for investors, and instil controls and behaviours required to ensure sound governance and cost management. In my most recent executive role at Driver Group plc, I led a major turnaround, dealing with significant problems including liquidity and funding issues, and implementing a new strategy supported by a streamlined structure and re-engaged staff. Many of my roles have involved planning and execution of corporate transactions including business acquisition and divestment, as well as restructuring and redefining the business proposition. At Arup I brought transformational change, notably cultural and behavioural in respect of putting financial objectives and principles at the heart of plans and activities. I drove extension of the Arup proposition from its engineering roots to include consulting, generating an extremely positive profile in the market, with the capability to meet the full range of client needs.
