SOME 30+ years ago my business began changing as the line of what is now more than 200 designs for small jewelry scaled bells began to occupy my attention, solving several difficulties I found as a designer & maker of custom jewelry. I discovered new joy in the freedom to design to my own taste... to design for production rather than a single client, thus also insuring against the vicissitudes of loss, theft & the destructive wear which a one of a kind piece of jewelry encounters. The bells allowed me to work with idea less encumbered with the value & glitz of such rare materials. The challenge of discovery inside the physics of making small metal castings which become resonant as a bell proved to be a satisfying pursuit. Bells are an ancient archetype in themselves, thus grounding my work deep in the history of art I have always loved. The bells proved themselves gradually to bring me to joy... in no small way that joy came as I watched them bring similar joy to my clientele. Delight began to replace the bemusement at my choice to play in such an unusual& even "silly" niche. The bells are their own best sales representatives. I enjoy watching them work in ways even I might never quite perceive.
