I was responsible for managing and assuring the effective services of 2 distinct sourcing teams. The first was the Procurement Team who were responsible for sourcing and negotiating strategic contracts with 3rd party vendors for a variety of products, solutions and services. My overall responsibility was to ensure the effective procurement of IT and property services which included: Infrastructure and Desktop Hardware, Software and Applications, Communications infrastructure (Both Fixed and Mobile) and all Property and Indirect Spend.Duties included:- Leading the team by creating and implementing a strategic vision. - Managing the team (Setting objectives, Managing Performance, Regular 1:1 and Team Meetings, Disciplinary proceedings, Coaching and Mentoring sessions).- Capacity Management – Ensuring that workload was evenly distributed and manageable.- Overseeing procurement strategy creation for all bespoke sourcing requirements to ensure that they effectively achieve the objectives of the end customer and comply with applicable legislation.- Support Key stakeholders to deliver their projects and cost reduction initiatives.- Overall ensure that ACCESS consistently demonstrates ‘best value’ sourcing practices on behalf of GCC. This included the following spend categories: Telephony (Fixed and Mobile), WAN/ LAN Networks, Data Centres and Messaging Hub (SMS and E-mail). (Circa Annual Spend Approx £20m).Duties involved:- Developing IT sourcing strategies.- Supporting Key stakeholders to deliver their projects and cost reduction initiatives.- Ensuring the Bank were sourcing goods and services competitively by leveraging, tendering and benchmarking all requirements.- Effectively managing all 3rd party suppliers to reduce service risks, improve service resilience throughout the bank and eliminate all cost inefficiencies.During my time in this position I also:- led a team which created a new streamlined procurement process which maximised sourcing leverage, improved speed to contract and provides a 100% risk analysis of all company spend.- Supported the procurement of the new Tesco Bank end to end procurement system which will go live Q2 2013. This will enable full e-Sourcing, Contract Management (Database) and Supplier Relationship Management functionality throughout the organisation.
Responsible for sourcing various IT projects which directly impact the customer operations of Tesco Bank e.g. Mobile Banking and PFM. I also managed the spend for Transactional Print, Plastic Card fulfilment, PIN mailers, PPI Temporary resources and Debt Collection services.Responsibilities Included:- Supporting Key stakeholders to deliver their projects and cost reduction initiatives.- Ensuring the Bank stakeholders are sourcing goods and services in compliance with the procurement policy and leading competitive Tenders and Benchmarking exercises on their behalf.- Improving existing commercial relations by building stronger links with key suppliers and eliminating cost inefficiencies and implementing value driven improvements for both Tesco Bank and suppliers.

Tendering requirements, benchmarking suppliers, re-sourcing parts to lower cost countries.Supporting Lean manufacturing initiatives by implementing a lean supply chain strategy.Maximise sourcing efficiencies by successfully introducing Kanban, consignment and VMI supply routes as and when required.Sourcing all Plastic and Metal components for all New Product Developments and factory transfer Initiatives.Joining Philips in March 2008 I played a key role in a variety of important projects. These included:Managing and supporting (From a supply chain perspective) the product transfer of 5 new products to the Philips Hamilton facility from other Philips Factories. Specified, tendered and sourced a new bespoke paint plant facility for the Hamilton site. Saving £25k on the capital investment. This new plant enabled the factory to reduce its lead time for painted products by 2 weeks.I assisted in the design and specification of the new 'Lean' warehouse increasing on site storage capacity by 34%. I also helped to develop the supply chain strategy for the future LED outdoor lights being manufactured in the Hamilton facility.
