As Compliance Manager for Bloom, I was responsible for all aspects of the organization's compliance with federal and state regulations. As part of ensuring adherence to compliance standards throughout the organization I was responsible for the review, development, and issuance of disciplinary/corrective actions.I directed the activities of our compliance monitoring staff and coordinate formal responses to inquiries from external clients, Departments of Insurance and other regulatory bodies, I served as the organization's main point of contact for clients on compliance issues and provided guidance to the organization on regulatory issues.

Indianapolis, Indiana Area

As the Director of the Indiana State Board of Nursing, my main responsibility was in implementing the licensing and disciplinary activities established by a nine member panel of Governor-appointed Board Members. I administered and oversaw all licensing and disciplinary activities for the approximately 125,000 actively licensed advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses in the State of Indiana. In addition to the individual nurse licensing process, I coordinated the Board's review and approval for all nurse education programs preparing individuals for licensure in the nursing profession in the State of Indiana;I also regularly participated in state and national policy discussions regarding nurse workforce shortage issues, scope of practice issues, and continued competence for nurses.

As an Environmental Manager in the Air Quality Rules Development group, I wrote administrative rules to address Clean Air Act requirements and state air pollution control issues. This involved research and other information gathering, as well as pre-rule promulgation policy discussions. I also evaluated variance requests and drafted variances and Commissioner's Orders.
