Providing a engaging software platform that enables charities and companies to create giving registries built upon items from leading online retailers, RightGift offers a truly impactful giving experience. RightGift appeals to individual donors, charities, and companies that sponsor a workplace gifts-in-king program. By offering the donor the opportunity to give in ways that meet the exact needs of the charities they want to support, RightGift represents innovation for a CSR industry that has changed very little in the past ten years. I recently joined RightGift to build out and support the operations of this rapidly growing young company.

Good Done Great and AmeriGivesAs CFO of this FinTech SaaS growth company, I set up the company's Finance Department, managed debt facilities and capital raises, architected necessary right-sizing, overhauled contracting, managed compliance, accounting and HR operations. I was also the CFO of our sister organization, DonateWell (see below). I led a cross-functional team to produce market-leading financial reporting capabilities with our DAF management software - necessary for our donation processing services.We exited Good Done Great in 3Q 2017 via a successful acquisition by one of our leading competitors.During my CFO tenure, I led the financial and operational consolidation of two acquisitions. In 2015, as owner and CEO of AmeriGives, we struck up a partnership with Good Done Great that led to a successful merger. In 2017, we acquired competitor WPG Solutions.

DonateWell is a 501c3 Donor Advised Fund representing an integral component of charitable gift processing in the CSR SaaS fundraising industry. While CFO of DonateWell, we grew to more than $40M in annual revenues, making DonateWell one of the top five DAFs in the country serving CSR SaaS-based programs. I was responsible for everything from all of finance and operations to developing new partner fundraising relationships to legal compliance.Among our accomplishments, we developed industry-leading software that fully automated gift disbursement and bank reconciliation activity. This work included the synchronization of fundraising system, charity APIs and bank data feeds to produce a fully transparent, highly accountable system.

Carr Systems solved problems at the intersection of business process and technology implementation. Our typical client had outgrown a custom-built legacy system that was undocumented and suffering a variety of performance problems. Our strengths were in understanding the business and core processes on which its success depends, then analyzing the legacy systems and data in current use. Only then did we begin solution design.Carr System also worked on a number of prototyping and new product development engagements, using both Open Source and Microsoft technologies. Noteworthy outcomes included: successful process automation, elimination of costly work-arounds, improved KPI and metric performance, and better user experience. Key engagements included building a data warehouse for DoD to support data collection and KPI analysis for 150 Navy Medicine facilities around the globe.

KindMark was an early stage, VC-funded FinTech company providing CSR SaaS software and services to Fortune 500 clients. I joined startup KindMark as the VP of Sales, closing the company's initial client base of Fortune 500 companies such as General Motors, EDS, Computer Sciences, Ernst & Young, and Nextel. My responsibilities were broad and included significant influence over product design. In 2003, I became President of the company, and managed our sale to larger competitor Kintera, a publicly traded fundraising and CRM software company.As a VP at Kintera, my responsibilities focused on consolidating newly acquired business units, while also managing sales for CSR / workplace giving software.

Responsibilities included leadership of the Fairfax-Falls Church region and developing new fundraising initiatives for UWNCA. I championed, then led the development of United Way's first online Workplace Giving system. I also worked closely with Fairfax County government, serving on several boards and commissions in the region.

Reporting to the Congressman's Chief of Staff, I performed issue-based research, assisted senior staff members regarding legislation analysis, drafted communications for the PR Director and coordinated constituent communications, and other duties as assigned.
