A once in a lifetime experience as a solo traveller prepared me for a wide range of situations and responsibility’s. I was responsible for supervising children from the ages of 7-14 mainly as well as their weekly schedule, getting them up in the mornings and leading a range of activities that varied from team building to crafting. I also worked along side other counsellors to create a positive and engaging environment allowing me to learn and carry out team building. This role also lead me to achieve a young people’s mental health certificate. During my time at camp I also worked in the kitchen where I was required and responsible to produce high quality meals for up to 100 campers and staff and maintain high quality standards. During this time I also became a mental health first aider. (Certificate attached)
