Day to day, Marketing in the Food industry includes many responsibilities: Strategising, Social Media Management, SEO, Graphic Design, Photography, Copy Writing, Web Development and Coding to name but a few. A recent addition to my role has been recipe development and food styling - this is something I’ve grown to enjoy enormously! I love the challenges that this fast-paced environment presents and exploring innovative ways to market watercress. My knowledge and skill set continue to expand as I sink my teeth further in to the industry.

I work hard to design graphics/products that fit a client's needs. As much as a thorough knowledge of Adobe programs is required, so is excellent customer service & communication. It's no use sitting behind a screen creating digital art if you can't build a rapport with the client to keep them returning to you. As an innately creative person who is completely incapable of using a paintbrush, graphic design allows me to really show off my skills.

I can say working for Lidl gave me a great deal of experience. The work ethic is strong, the hours are long and the tasks are sometimes physically hard. It furthered my customer service skills, confirming my belief in service with a smile and giving me a new found respect for all retail workers. It was key in helping me integrate in to a new area of the country and developed my team-work and communication.

This role was certainly varied, covering everything from coffee making and baby soothing to photography and editing. It meant every day I would be talking to someone new, who had something different to offer, and that made it exciting. I loved working here for many reasons; the strong bond I formed in a tiny team, the feeling of capturing such special moments for people...I won't miss dodging projectiles from newborns, though.
