Growing up I always thought I wanted to be a teacher. I enjoyed teaching new things but I also enjoyed learning things myself. I have a passion for education that stems far beyond teaching. Even though it isn't exactly reflected in the pursuit for my degree in Early and Elementary Education I have taken psychology classes since my first elective course in high school. I love understanding people and looking through their perspective. Seeing how we are built to be the wonderful people we are today is fascinating to me.This pursuit of learning and understanding others has guided me into a variety of positions from BDC at a car dealership to taking inventory of a hardware store to my current job of Managing a summer camp. Every position I have ever taken has taught me skills and caused me to learn more about what I enjoy and want out of my own life. I know now that I am a sucker for organization and planning. Any management position I have taken has kept me happily organized and on my toes for whatever crazy thing happens next! I enjoy the quick paces and the multitude of different people I have the pleasure to be surrounded by.All of these amazing experiences in my life have truly circled back to that idea of what I wanted to end up doing. As I go through school and physically visit a multitude of schools and communities I see that the work I want to do grows beyond the classrooms. It reaches the families in the classrooms and grows into their communities. As I watch my own toddler take on the world with such independence and pride I can begin to understand how important it is to shape a more positive future. I want to work within the education field, doing everything I can to ensure a brighter future for our little independent people.
