Monitor Contract and Grant activity. Verify submitted budgets are correct and comply with University guidelines for personnel cost, inflation, supplies and services. Audit correct and or/justify financial discrepancies and initiate corrective actions. Track and reconcile expenditures and appropriations. Ensure compliance with grant requirements to assist in forecasting anticipated costs for Director and PI. Assist Director in preparing annual budgets and funding information for the department. Receive and process gift/ donations to ensure compliance with Gift Policy Administration, Sponsored Research and General Accounting. Manager for over 7 million dollars in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences including over 150 research accounts from inception to closeout● Coordinate finances with faculty facilitating federal and private research grant submissions● Control grant funds and monitor daily expenditures, prepare and reconcile monthly ledgers
