I held Graduate Research Assistant positions with four projects during my time in the Social and Behavioral Interventions program within the International Health Department: 1) Project characterizing the unmet needs of adolescent girls and young women in urban areas of Ethiopia through quantitative research and epidemiological mapping of HIV and STI prevalence. 2) JHSPH partnership with the International Institute for Primary Health Care in Ethiopia to develop curricula and conduct a systematic review of relevant literature.3) Qualitative implementation research of the Baltimore Department of Health's new model of provision of medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.4) Qualitative formative research study of opioid use among adolescents in Baltimore City.

Following the response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, the Epidemic Preparedness and Response (EPR) OFDA-funded project sought to ensure that health facilities are following standard Infection Prevention and Control procedures, that the needs of health care workers are being adequately addressed, and that the country's health system is equipped to prevent and respond to any future outbreaks of Ebola or other diseases. As Manager of the EPR program, my responsibilities included monitoring of surveillance information and project indicators, budget and workplan management, internal and external coordination and communications, and monthly donor reports.

Worked with a team of national health staff to implement 2 projects to improve health care delivery in the region of Ouham Pende in Northwestern CAR through the support of health facilities, mobile clinics, and a network of community health workers.My responsibilities included data management, donor reporting, streamlining of drug management processes and systems, logistical supervision of monthly medical donations to 14 health facilities, budgeting, staff training on specific tools and systems as needed, and coordination of emergency response.
