Recent care coordination work as a mobile case manager with Healthy Connect has allowed me to better understand the barriers Clients and Patients face when seeking resources to meet their basic needs. Clinical work at South Bay Guidance Center has allowed me to develop and practice multiple skills helping clients with pervasive mental illness to connect and engage in psychiatric treatment services. Building rapport with clients through assessments, individual therapy and positive group environments has allowed me to be involved with meeting treatment plan goals as well as the goals of the client in their process of recovery. By the end of my work at South Bay Guidance Center I was carrying a large high risk case load with new clients as well as continuing monthly care coordination and weekly individual therapy.Current therapy sessions have allowed me to develop ISTDP therapy skills, implement telephonic and online services in sessions and to follow up with multiple ACT level clients. Group therapy sessions have provided me with experience engaging clients in services and referring them to recommended sessions where they obtain psychoeducation and practice coping skills in a community environment.
