As a bookseller, I leverage key campaigns such as Our Monthly Picks, preorders, and Book Clubs to hand sell and promote specific titles and authors. I also complete a wide variety of customer service tasks both in person and over the phone. I consistently create and maintain display tables according to theme, such as the "Blind Date with a Book" display, which introduces new stories, authors, and voices to our customers. I help keep the bookstore organized and tidy, as well as work throughout the store and at POS to engage with customers. I also assist in managing the store's social media accounts, creating new and relatable content, advertising promotions, and promoting community engagement and education on the latest Barnes and Noble updates. I've been able to help plan and manage author events and midnight release parties.

In my role as a Marketing Coordinator, I provided administrative support for the CEO and the Marketing Manager, preparing materials for team meetings, maintaining project documentation, outlining project milestones and helping to create marketing strategies from inception to completion. I also assisted with PR activities such as pitching, award nominations, and gifting. I was also responsible for writing long and short form content, including social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and award submissions. Another key element of this position was maintaining relationships with graphic designers, web developers, and vendors to produce required deliverables.

During this internship, I read and analyzed two manuscripts ranging between 50 and 95k words across a variety of genres each week. I also wrote a readers report for each manuscript focusing on summary, style, tone, plot, and marketability.

In this role I facilitated 150 + successful hour-long appointments with students working on a range of nonfiction, creative writing poetry, and research papers These included pieces that were selected for the Alcala Review Publication. I also copyedited and proofread submissions using knowledge of writing and research styles, including MLA, Chicago, and APA.

In my role as a publicity intern, I updated and researched media contacts, created publicity materials such as pitch letters and PR contact lists, made internal system updates, and assisted with media mailings and requests. I also created pitch emails and galley letters for three Pegasus titles, and communicated with potential reviewers for those books via email and social media. I was also responsible for submitting books to publishing trade publications including Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, Shelf-Awareness, Library Journal, Booklist, and Foreword.

As an office assistant for Assured InHome Care I was responsible for maintaining an organized and streamlined office space. I worked throughout the summers completing general office work, including but not limited to: faxing, copying, filing, data entry, and other computer work.
