I am a PhD researcher in the School of Geography, Earth, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham, UK. My research focuses on the use of standardised testing methods to monitor biodegradation of polymers in soil, driven by the EU REACH restriction.My main research interests are: biodegradation of biodegradable polymers in soil and other environments, methodologies to improve our understanding of the process of biodegradation, the impact of environmental legislation, soil pollution, sustainable agriculture, plastic and microplastic pollutants, the transfer and environmental fate of microplastics in soil.
