I have gained 6 years of experience in non-profit and community-based leadership while working and volunteering with several non-profits and government organizations in the Portland Metro Area.I attended Portland State University where I received my BS in Political Science. During my freshman year, I was awarded the opportunity to study abroad in India for 6 weeks where I learned about ethno-religious dynamics of the Muslim community in India. I lived in and volunteered with several sustainable agriculture and conservation projects in southern India where I learned about Permaculture and reforestation processes. I am the current Community Outreach and Recruitment Specialist for Carpe Mundi and have the joy of connecting low-income students with opportunities abroad and here in Portland to cultivate their own passions and purposes. I am eager to gain more valuable experience in community development and services for low-income, queer, BIPOC, and rural communities in Oregon.
