My responsibilities include the executive oversight of the delivery of the AWD Combat System as part of the new RAN DDG Class.

I have the responsibility for the profit and loss of the Business Unit within BAE Systems. The Business Unit has approximately 1000 employees, deployed across a number of projects of varying size, predominantly delivering capability to the Commonwealth of Australia. As Director I have responsibility for developing and discharging the overall strategy, business development goals and ensuring that the engineering capability development is aligned to position BAE Systems for future Land and Integrated Systems opportunities, both in the defence and commercial sector.

Leadership of a Line of Business within the L&IS Business Unit. The LoB is diverse both geographically and also the projects and programs within it, covering all parts of the lifecycle from R&D through to sustainment. Successfully delivered against the business plan for Orders, Sales and EBITA. Established strategy in line with the business unit strategy, working closely with partners and suppliers to deliver highly complex projects and leading edge technological solutions. Responsible for senior stakeholder management both internally & externally including both state and federal government agencies and global defence companies.

Took responsibility for the remediation and delivery of the overall program for BAE Systems. A multi discipline team of over 180 people, with a contract value in excess of $140M, the Echidna program was a complex systems integration project involving system design, software and hardware development and aircraft integration activities.

As the Integrated Project Team leader my main responsibilities included• delivery to time and budget of the following Type 45 contracts:o Combat Management System (CMS) value £95Mo Electro Optic Gun Fire Control System (EOGCS) value £18Mo Trials & Integration value £5.5Mo Type 45 METOC value £4Mo Factory Support Environment (FSE) value £1M• reporting progress and status of all projects to the business and the customer on a regular monthly basis;• resource management and forecasting to determine work load forecast for both the short (current year) term and long term, team size approximately 150 people;• primary point of contact with Customer (Type 45 PCO) for the negotiation of contracts with including technical and commercial elements;• support to the Bids and Marketing function in generating follow on business, both UK and Export opportunities, using Type 45 products;• sub contract management of major suppliers including Ultra Electronics, Logica, EDS, Aish Technologies;

Main responsibilities included• delivery to time and budget of all major training contracts totaling in excess of £50M with an annual operating budget in excess of £5M;• implementation of profit improvement plans for all training projects to secure additional savings;• support to the Bids and Marketing function in the generation of proposals for future work as the Operations directorate technical authority;• negotiation of contracts with customers including technical and commercial elements;
