Worked primarily on estates related procurement activity including spend and contract reviews, an EV charging tender for a multi storey car park, a tender renewal for fleet involving a review of fleet including 'grey fleet' and various of other product related tenders. I was involved in other non-estates related procurement activity including a tender for language services and a tender following the new provider selection regime for a triage service for a neurology department.

Worked on a £55-60m contract for land referencing services which ended as a result of the government's announcement for HS2 not to go beyond Birmingham.

Worked on a project at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust on behalf of NHS E relating to non-emergency patient transport. The project involved reviewing existing contractual arrangements, identify good/poor practice with resulting recommendations. I also worked on smaller projects relating to other forms of transport (taxis, own vehicles) and EV charging/electrification.

Responsible for the managing the contracting team in Tower 5 of CPP which was responsible for the procurement of framework agreements on behalf of NHS Supply Chain for products and services relating to rehabilitation, disability and women’s health. Frameworks included pressure area care, continence and disposable products, wheelchairs, electronic assistive technology and immobilisation products. The role included ongoing stakeholder management and constant liaison with NHS Trust, NHS Supply Chain and NHS England. Compliance and the ability to work to strict deadlines relating to the completion and submission of category and sourcing strategies was a key part of the role.

I was responsible for the delivery of OJEU procurements on behalf of both the Council and Advance, a regeneration company owned by the Council. Projects included the design and build of leisure centres at Berwick,and Morpeth, a regeneration project in Blyth, a retail and leisure development at Ashington and an ERDF funded solar car port in Morpeth. Smaller projects have included an ERDF funded web project and an ERDF 1-1 training project. I also led and delivered a framework tender for an asbestos management and consultancy service on behalf of the Council. The role also included a review of housing related materials spend at the Council and the production of a category plan which included significant saving opportunities. This led to significant saving opportunities which were then implemented.

Category management of an existing materials framework including managing significant price pressures particularly prior to award and mobilisation of the new contracts. Spend was circa £5m per annum across the Framework. An initial spend review resulted in significant savings across the existing spend portfolio.Role involved the procurement and mobilisation of a new materials framework covering plumbing and heating, electrics, kitchens, flooring and windows and doors. Prior to the end of the role I managed three OJEU procurements relating to lifts covering inspections, refurbishments and consultancy to be utilised across the whole of Home Group.

Part of a shared procurement service providing a procurement advice, guidance and support across the whole of the Trust. Included mainly above threshold projects including pharmacy robot, remote radiology services, anti-coagulation as well as the responsibility for the category management of theatre consumables. I also led an efficiency project relating to beds and mattresses and the cleaning of them which involved a review of contracts, spend and working practices which resulted in significant cashable efficiency savings.

Managing a small procurement team which provided a below and above threshold service across the whole of the Trust including services, goods and works. A key part of the role was relationship management and improving day to day working relationship with client departments.

Providing procurement consultancy to further education colleges in the north east including; Stockton College, Middlesbrough College, Cleveland College of Art and Design and Redcar College.

Director of Lifestyle Home Adaptations Ltd, a company that provided a home adaptation service helping to provide independent living. The company provided adaptation solutions for people of all ages and abilities. If offered home surveys and the supply and installation of products e.g. wet rooms, level access showers. As Director I had responsibility for running and managing the business which included brand creation and awareness, developing and launching a web site, implementation of marketing plans, business development, the creation of supply chains, pricing and contract management of work.

NEP was a procurement consortium owned by and representative of social landlords in the north east. My role was to deliver and manage price, quality and the performance of NEP Frameworks and the contractors and suppliers on them through effective contract management. While acting for social landlords particular responsibilities include:• Leading contractor and supplier negotiations;• Forming and managing key relationships between client landlords contractors and suppliers;• Supporting landlords in delivering value for money;• Dispute management;• ‘Troubleshooting’ and contract managing supply chain issues;• Data analysis and KPI reporting;• Delivering and managing full life cycle OJEU procurement processes;• Undertaking mini-competitions as a result of ‘call offs’ from Frameworks;• Input to specification, supply and sourcing, particularly in terms of commercial risk, operational risk, economies of scale, innovation and efficiency; and• Advising and supporting client landlords in the delivery of procurement projects including contract award.
