Adult Literacy Education & Consulting (ALEC) Limited (2007-2018), was a niche provider of adult literacy and numeracy professional development delivering the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education (Vocational/Workplace) and similar training. ALEC was accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and funded by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) to deliver this professional development to more than 1000 tutors between 2007 and 2018 around New Zealand Aotearoa.The NZCALNE (Voc) is the qualification of choice in Aotearoa New Zealand for tutor capability building at foundation learning level for trades and vocational education tutors.Since founding ALEC in 2007, I: * Provided leadership to teams, helped build organisational and tutor capability and delivered professional literacy and numeracy learning in Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs), Private Training Establishments (PTEs), Industry Training Organisations (ITOs), private companies and peak bodies.* Provided consulting and contributed to key infrastructure and resources developed by the NZQA and TEC including qualifications, unit standards, capability frameworks, cultural competencies, the Learning Progressions, National Assessment Tool, Pathways Awarua and professional standards frameworks.* Designed, wrote, delivered and assessed educator professional development for the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education (Vocational/Workplace) and all previous variants of the qualification since November 2006.* Managed ALEC’s key contractors involved in the delivery of professional development.
