Front End DeveloperEmc Consulting Feb 2010 - Aug 2010I am currently working for EMC Consulting developing a new Retail On-line Banking website for a major UK bank. This application has been written to have no page refreshes once the user has logged onto the secure site. Everything has been done with modal “popups” and take-over windows, with communication to the back-end servers via Ajax. This application makes extensive use of object oriented javascript and is a true “web application” rather than website. My contract ends at the end of August 2010.

Web DevelopmentTesco Digital Jun 2009 - Nov 2009June-Dec 2009 Working as part of a team of 25 contract programmers, I developed the front end for the new Tesco Digital website www.tescoentertainment.comAs one of only two Javascript developers on the team, I helped create an extensive object-orientated javascript framework based around Mootools, which helped speed up development time and allowed a far greater range of animation effects, validations, Ajax and other features than would normally be possible.I made extensive use of CSS to create a large range of complex page designs.
-
Front End DeveloperFuse Digital Apr 2009 - Jun 2009Together with one other developer, I created a new Lucozade Energy website using CSS, XHTML, Javascript, JQuery and ASP.NET (C#). www.LucozadeEnergyChallenge.com. Lucozade were offering a series of adventure holidays and are tying the promotion in with sponsorship of series 9 of Big Brother. The site bought together feeds from Twitter, YouTube, Flicker and a blog to show the experiences of prior "challenge" winners while promoting the next challenge. I completed all of the front end (browser side) code for this site, and about 25% of the back end code. I created the site to be compatible with IE6,7,8, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome. The project was built on time and on budget, despite the specs changing daily even while development was under way!
