I served as Chairman of Zuckerman Spaeder LLP from 2001 to the end of 2015. Zuckerman Spaeder is a focused litigation firm with approximately 100 lawyers, founded in Washington, DC, with offices in New York, Tampa, and Baltimore. We litigate high stakes white collar criminal and civil cases, representing defendants as well as plaintiffs. * The Junior Tennis Champions Center (“JTCC”) is a world class training program located in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Founded in 1999, JTCC provides opportunities for junior players from diverse backgrounds. In 2008, our supporters provided over $500,000 in financial assistance in need-based and merit-based aid and grants. At its inception in 1999, the Junior Tennis Champions Tennis program had 40 students. Today we have more than doubled that enrollment. * JTCC’s goal is to identify talented and highly motivated young people and teach them to excel on the tennis court and in the classroom. Every student who has graduated from the program has received a scholarship to a Division I school or a facilitated acceptance at a Division III or Ivy League school. * JTCC has been named the first United States Tennis Association (USTA) Regional Training Center by the USTA, tennis’ national governing body.Mission Statement * JTCC strives to be the best junior tennis training program in the world. The not-for-profit Champions Center has an unwavering commitment to developing tennis champions who uphold the highest competitive, ethical and personal values on their way to realizing their full potential. The Champions program uses tennis as a vehicle for educating young people, from their introduction to the game to top tier collegiate and professional competition. The Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia was formed in 1932 to provide civil legal aid to individuals, families and communities in the District who could not otherwise afford to hire a lawyer. Over the last 75 years, Legal Aid has helped tens of thousands of District residents obtain meaningful access to justice.
