Engaging with students and creating relationships that support and nurture their learning journey are my priorities as well as learning to be a better teacher. Always looking to improve and personalise the learning journey for each student and to make sure that I don't lose sight of the individual person. I have along the way, been fortunate to have had mentors and colleagues that molded and polished my character and skills. My teaching style is to give students the opportunity to learn at their own pace and then just a bit more. Getting to know students individually is critical to learning and working with them to develop their own learning journey is important. I have been involved in many projects and programs from beginnings to completion and halfway in between. My most rewarding projects have been initiating and developing a Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) program from scratch at Beaconhills College as well as setting up a woodworking facility at Cire Community School, refurbished a VCE Centre at Lighthouse College, and part of a team that designed a new Year Nine Centre at Beaconhills College. Together with others, helped develop an overseas Vietnam cultural program with Year Nine and organised, attended, and supported numerous camps across several schools. A keen supporter of VCAL and what it has to offer and enjoy working with students who have found schooling to be a rough path as well as those with trauma backgrounds and mental health battles. Experienced Teacher with a demonstrated record of working in the education management industry. Skilled in Lesson Planning, Educational Technology, Classroom Management, and Curriculum Development. Strong education professional with a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Literary Studies and History from Deakin University.
