I'm a co-founder of Jigsaw, an alternative investor and buyer for recruitment founders.I'm passionate about building businesses and supporting talented individuals. From my earlier career in the British Army to my career in executive search, I've always loved developing people and teams.I first entered the recruitment market by joining PWC's Executive Search Practice, and then in 2002, I founded GatenbySanderson. This business would develop into one of the UK's leading executive search firms. As Managing Partner, alongside my capable team, I grew it from a start-up to having offices nationwide in London, Birmingham, and Leeds. By 2014, we had 95 staff, £38 million in sales, and a net profit of £5.4 million. That year, as sole shareholder, I made the decision to sell the company in an eight-figure exit to private equity.Afterwards, I wanted to help other recruitment founders build great businesses of their own. I started by investing in Starfish Search, initially backing the founder, Juliet Taylor and taking on the position of Chair. Growing brilliantly, Starfish Search is a non-executive and c-suite executive search company that launched in 2019.Then, in 2024, I launched Jigsaw. Growing a recruitment business is hard, and so is selling one. Recognising this, alongside my son and his experience in the M&A market, we're looking to provide an alternative option to recruitment founders, enabling them to better launch, grow and sell exceptional recruitment businesses. My other business interests range from agricultural to commercial and retail property. In my spare time, I chair Rally the Globe, a not-for-profit historic rally company that organises historic events worldwide, which I also founded.
