After graduating with a Bachelor of Music (BMus) from the University of Cape Town (UCT), I spent a decade working as a freelance double bassist and bass guitarist in jazz, musical theatre, and classical music before deciding to switch careers into software engineering.In March 2023, I completed a 6-month SDE Internship at Amazon Web Services in Cape Town and in November 2023 I completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of South Africa (UNISA), with distinction. I am currently completing a BSc Honours in Mathematics and expect to graduate at the beginning of 2026.Since April 2023 I have worked as a software engineer at Ankerdata Development, focusing on re-writing a monolithic point-of-sale system as a separate front-end, back-end, and data store. My responsibilities in this role have included writing an airport coupon system, a test suite, and creating reactive dialogues in Qt for Python.I am proficient in several programming languages including Python, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and C.
