Working as a practice nurse covering many aspects of care. Antenatal checks, cervical screening, advice on contraception, menopause advice, childhood vaccinations, seasonal vaccinations, diabetic care, spirometry, asthma, COPD, bloods, ECG, 24 hr ABPM, dressings, assisting with minor surgical procedures, removal of IUCD/IUS and assisting with insertion. Implanon NXT insertion and removal. PCRS data management and claiming.

Working in conjunction with a GP to manage diabetic patients, making appropriate referrals as required to MDT. I have updated practice policies, protocols and guidelines. I have also been involved in updating computerised patient records.

Working in a progressive practice offering chronic disease management in conjunction with a wide range of services. I also worked on a part time basis to over see the management of the diabetic population.

Working along side three GP's to deliver care to a wide variety of clients. This was my first post in General Practice and I embarked upon a steep learning curve to enhance my knowledge and skills. Working with a semi computerised practice using the Health One soft ware.

I worked in all areas of midwifery care including Antenatal clinic, intra-partum care on labour ward and post natal care. I worked for a year on the Midwife led unit, delivering holistic hospital based care including water birthing and early home based post natal care.

Working for a private organisation delivering intra-partum and post natal care to women of Arabic origin. These clients were largely grand multiparous and were in the high risk category. I was required to learn medical Arabic in order to facilitate care. During this term of employment I completed my degree in midwifery by distance learning with South Bank University.

I undertook a course in Special and intensive care of neonates and following completion of the course I consolidated my learning while working as a staff nurse on the unit.

Employed as a junior sister in a maternity hospital practicing team midwifery. I worked in all areas of the maternity unit. Gained skills in caring for ladies requesting water births. Became a facilitator on the 'Invest in Breast' program.

This position enabled me to consolidate my midwifery training and gain experience in all areas of maternity care. I gained skills in caring for ladies with mobile epidural insitu. I achieved competency in perineal repair post delivery an in assisting with LSCS deliveries.
