Singapore

Responsible for all Sales and Relationship Management activities for the Singapore Branch office, duties include: Responsible for the selling of the Clearing, Custody and Financing services of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. within Singapore and Asia to High Frequency Trading Firms Hedge Fund, Banks and other institutional clients covering the global equity and derivative markets.  Responsible for all relationship management activities for existing ABN AMRO Clearing client base within Singapore and Asia, Work with the Regional Business Development team to identify new markets/opportunities, build business cases and take leadership role in gaining global and regional approvals.  As lead Sales and Relationship manager within Singapore, lead negotiator for all negotiations on clearing and financing fees and service level enhancements.  Represent ABN AMRO Bank at Asian Industry conferences and where required act as speaker/moderator on expert panels.  Staff management, including managing team performance through regular performance reviews, setting & communicating targets and providing feedback.  Work with Credit Department colleagues to work on Client Credit Files/Applications and to present the file (representing the commercial department) to the regional and global Credit Cmte’s for ABN AMRO Bank.

Sydney, Australia

 Responsible for the opening and build out of our Japan office that ABN AMRO Bank opened in Japan in 2007. Including leading the process to gain membership in the cash and derivatives exchanges in Japan and working with staff across a range of cultures/age groups. Represent ABN AMRO Bank for interaction with regulatory and governmental organizations, including representations on security market infrastructure and ongoing regulatory changes to the Pan-Asia Capital Markets infrastructure. This included presenting to ASIC in September 2009 on High Frequency Trading Strategies. Coordinate the on- boarding of clients into the Asian emerging markets, including appropriate advice on potential structuring of inward investments into these regional economies via both Exchange and OTC structured vehicles. Set Strategic direction of the Asia Pacific Global Custody and Clearing Business Unit including identifying new market opportunities and potential new client class along with the Regional MD and associated local MD’s of ABN AMRO Asian Offices in the region (as a component of international strategy and in line with the Global Management teams global strategy).

Hong Kong

With a dual reporting line into Senior Management in New York and Hong Kong, responsible for developing and maintaining the Morgan Stanley Asia Pacific Clearing and Custody infrastructure for Morgan Stanley’s Prime Brokerage business, through utilizing effective relationship, risk and expense management skills.Core Functional Responsibilities Responsible for coordinating and negotiating all Tariffs for Morgan Stanley’s Custody business region wide. Lead the RFP/RFI process for Morgan Stanley, lead negotiator on all costs and required to work effectively with Morgan Stanley Custody Agents to build ongoing relationships. Lead and initiate strategic discussions with internal/external organizations to evaluate business opportunities within the Asia Pac Region.

Singapore

Reporting to the Global Head of Global Operations who was based in Chicago I had responsibility for all Operational matters pertaining to the Asia/Pacific region for Cargill Investor Services.Core Functional Responsibilities Responsible for managing all Operational relationships within the Asia Pacific region. This includes Commercial banking relationships, Brokers, 3rd Party Vendors and Regional Exchanges and Governmental Organizations. Within this remit I was required to negotiate costs/charges incurred by Cargill Investor Services in the normal course of business. Member of the Singapore Cargill Investor Services Management team of 5 persons. As a team we were tasked with formulating and implementing the corporation’s business strategy within Asia and also to investigate potential new sources of revenue. Ensure that the Operations Department is structured and appropriately staffed to match the strategic direction of Cargill Investor Services. Coordinate the roll out of Cargill Investor Services Equities execution/custody service to selected clients within Asia. Develop/co-ordinate budget for Cargill Investor Services for the Asian region for the following Areas - Operations, IT & E-Trading Support functionality. Assist in formation of Cargill Investor Services Asian E-trading strategy and to then negotiate/coordinate with 3rd party Brokers and e-trading solution providers to implement the approved strategic vision. With a staff of 3 direct reports/25 indirect reports, I had responsibility for the direction and training of staff and ensuring that personnel related issues are handled within the parameters of Cargill’s global HR policy.

Promoted from the role of Futures Clearing Officer to the Head of Clearing for Fimat’s Asian Clearing Centre, chief responsibility lay in ensuring a continuous high level of service offering to our internal/external client base whilst minimizing any operational risk issues/cost controls.
