Responsible for maintaining & operating the oil, gas, water injection and utilities systems of the platform. Systems include, Production trains, main oil line pumps, gas compression, HP water injection, diesel system, chemical injection, potable water, inert gas, plant / instrument air, fire pumps, ring main and deluge. Responsible for overseeing all work scopes carried out by platform personnel within the areas mentioned. Monitoring of process and plant equipment to ensure process stability. First line maintenance of equipment in need of minor repairs / adjustments to maximise process stability. Creation and implementation of plant isolations. Carries out daily sampling including: Oil in water analysis, basic sediment and water (B,S&W), Karl Fischer and flash point techniques. Platform Si971 Elected Safety Representative (ESR) who passionately strives to make safety the number one priority.

North Sea

A lead Technician in Mechanical Maintenance responsible for an array of tasks including critical machinery fault diagnosis and overhauls. Responsible for taking on larger projects such as platform shutdowns where critical mechanical work scopes are identified using the CMMS, materials ordered, permits to work created and risk assessed using the platform Safe System of Work software. Management and performing authority for third party vendors to make sure the work was executed safely and in a timely manner. Installation and commissioning of newly installed equipment. Called upon to act as Mechanical Team Leader on many occasions.

North Sea

Working as part of a team responsible for maintaining and servicing of all safety and production critical equipment on the platform. Competent in maintaining water injection pumps, main oil line pumps, fire pumps, diesel engines, air compressors, HVAC systems, lifeboats and BA equipment. Nominated as the platform focal point for condition monitoring and regularly called upon for fault diagnosis on machinery. Takes pride in his work and always sets a high standard, all whilst utilising TAQA’s safety rules. A key member of the emergency response team constantly sharing ideas and participating in platform emergencies and exercises.

Diagnosis of gas turbine faults on Rolls Royce Avon & RB211, Ruston TB5000 and Solar Centaur. Client support in commissioning of power generation sets. Fire Pump performance flow testing using ultrasonic flow meter.

Utilised for carrying out routine vibration analysis and report writing for the 15 crude oil tankers in the reliability programme. Regularly sent out on a worldwide basis to board ships and provide training (theory and practical) in vibration analysis / collection, laser shaft and pulley alignment. Installation and commissioning of remote accelerometers and wiring of junction boxes. Also carried out factory witness testing of clients products.

After completing various training packages Inc BINDT Level 1 Vibration analysis, Route Cause Analysis, B.O.S.I.E.T., Offshore Medical and I.S.S.O.W., was given sole responsibility to carry out monthly routine Condition Monitoring of the Fulmar & Auk platforms in the Greater Fulmar Area of the North Sea.

Various duties were carried out such as gas turbine component inspections, fault diagnosis, component replacement, engine control & performance testing, electrical continuity checks, borescope inspections, rectification, preventative and planned maintenance using an array of specialised equipment, whilst ensuring duties were performed in a safe and efficient manner. Undertook a variety of courses to help gain an excellent breadth of knowledge on a collection of systems such as the fuel, vent and oil system of the Tornado GR4 and the Rolls Royce RB199 triple spool gas turbine engine.
