Our team was contracted by Corning Cable Systems to research and design a system to improve the lack of controls of fiber optic cable connectors on their assembly line. As leader, I managed a $12,000 project budget, set project.

In my internship with Corning, I was tasked to design and building an automated machine to precisely strip fiber optic cables at various locations. To accomplish this, I designed an pneumatically actuated device to be run by a PLC controller. To ensure the system would work as needed, testing was conducted to measure the forces needed to hold the cable in.

I worked part time for Weatherford International as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern. In the two and a half years of working under a Project Manager, Professional Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer, I was presented with opportunities to learn and grow as both an engineer and a reliable team communicator.
