I was previously unemployed for about 8 months due to the lousy economy; to make the most of the time I attended classes and worked to advance my skills with Autodesk Inventor 3D design software. Additionally I became an Autodesk-Certified Inventor Associate. I help companies with advanced 3D design automation and software systems integration for Autodesk products. This translates into engineers spending less time drafting, and more time solving problems.My primary interest and experience is in usage and administration of Inventor 3D design software. A new development in the realm of 3D is the Inventor "iLogic" add-in. This is a revolutionary design automation tool that vastly increases the capabilities of Inventor. In other words it allows the designer to create flexible, rule-based models; which can save tremendous amounts of time. If your company has ever made more than one configuration of a part, I can reduce design time considerably. This technology is cutting edge; I am the 9th person in the world to be trained on iLogic.For the first half of 2010 I was a consultant for Impact Engineering, assisting companies with Autodesk Vault implementation, VBA Programming in Excel, and 3D CAD workload using Inventor. After the contract was completed, I joined one of the clients.At a previous job (Spuncast), I maintained the CAD systems and libraries, and managed upgrades. I deployed Vault (network-based data management designed around CAD file security) and trained all the users in this software. See Spuncast below for more info.You'll see below that I've also worked as a CNC Machinist; this gives me an edge because I am familiar with production processes and real-world manufacturing practices.I have 4.5 years invested in a Mechanical Engineering degree; I intend to return to school in the near future to earn a degree in Mechanical Design.
