My responsibilities included being part of the Retail Administration Services programme team at Maitland. The Programme was set up to create a best of breed local and international retail administration environment, utilising and building on the current administration capability within the Maitland Group. The core focus of the programme was to implement and configure the FlexCube application to cater for a multi-domicile and multi-jurisdictional business across multiple product sets. The main driver was to provide an open architecture admin platform in an outsourced environment. The programme fed into the revitalisation of the Transfer Agency business.My role specifically was the ICT component which comprised of the core applications as well as the peripheral systems development, delivery and integration

My responsibilities included all Cadiz Asset Management (CAM) ICT systems, applications and integration architectureThis included all projects as well as Information Services for CAM. This ranged from daily operational support and business optimisation to system and process implementation and optimisation. My role included liaising with third party developers, vendors and administrators, ensuring that correct governance and process was applied.Internally I reported to and provided input and feedback to the IT Steercom around business initiatives relating to all ICT systems.

The engagement included the launch and Implementation of the Life and Endowment (LEP) module of the Flexcube Investor Services system (FCIS Version 9.1). Scope included configuration, testing and implementation into the Operations business.Work incorporated a stream that catered for the migration of the multi-currency structured funds from a bespoke in-house application to Flexcube version 9.1

The engagement included consulting within the Operations environment of Cadiz Asset Management (CAM). The following workstreams were covered:Primary responsibility;The implementation and configuration of the Flexcube client liability software, (Version 9.1);. Including:Insourcing of the current unit trust business, including the administration process and full history data migration from AOS (Automated Outsourcing Services) to Cadiz Asset Management,Assisting in the integration of the in-house workflow, reporting, imaging and warehousing systems to the core client liability system (Flexcube version 9.1). Along with the above implementation the business restructure and alignment from a silo to functional processing environment, to optimise the new systems applications;Secondary responsibilities;The implementation of the Dividend withholding tax legislation across the various business units and operational systems. This included the specification, testing and roll out into the business units;Implementing a Project Office environment. Including the structure and roll out of business analysts and a project methodology to align with the internal development team and business support structures

Assisting Cadiz Asset Management with a Data warehouse and MIS (Management information system) including: analysis, design and implementation. The work spanned both the Institutional as well as the Retail businesses, and multiple data sources. The work also included liaising with the external development vendor company Infovest. The focus was on the integration and consolidation of the institutional data with industry reports and performance data.Assisted Cadiz Asset Management with the analysis, design and implementation of the ASISA statistical system. Part of a consulting team looking at operational capabilities and alignment to company strategy. This included strategy across both Cadiz wealth as well as Cadiz Asset Management. (Institutional and retail businesses)Assisted in the RFI and RFP process for sourcing a unitised client liability system to suit both Unit Trusts and LIFE investment products in South Africa. Part of the selection processes and recommendation around system selection.

The engagement included the following;Review of the Unit Trust and Life Product validation business process and systems, relating specifically to insourcing of the validation processes for the administration of the client liability.The focus was to insource the validation component of the Unit Trust validation from Maitland Financial Services as well as the Life Product validation from Old Mutual.The work included liaising with the application developers Relatetech in designing and implementing the system. This allowed Coronation to insource the core business process of validation while leaving the administration at the external outsourcing companies. Exposure to sms integration through Grapevine technologies.
