Decided to leave the rat race and all the corporate bollocks behind for a while.Resigned my position at Fletcher Building Roof Tile Group - Gerard Roofs, and headed out the door for an undetermined period of time.Wow - what a blast!! This space was largely not “owned” by any other roofing company and I used this opportunity to test my previous skills and experience in the on-line space to establish new growth opportunities.As Business Development Manager I was charged with exposing new and untapped opportunities, cementing and building on already existing relationships and creating new relationships with significant players in the residential home building market for the Gerard Roofs network.• Maintaining and growing share of wallet with existing accounts• Establishing new relationships with additional major group builders on a national and regional level• Build and maintain a comprehensive database of relevant trade and design industry contacts• Introduce, track and manage leads/opportunities presented from the Gerard Roofs Website• Negotiate supply agreements with national, regional or strategic builders – with the objective to secure exclusive, preferred or as a minimum, joint supply agreements and to ensure each agreement was closely aligned to the individual company’s primary values and objectives• Maintain consistent account maintenance meetings at head office level for all key accounts• Ensure service delivery levels were being upheld by the distributor network and applying remedial actions in any cases where a shortfall was identified Show less
