Creation of a divested company. January - April 2016Following the merge of two large data centre companies, Deloitte provided a team to create a divested company in accordance with European competition laws. Key responsibilities include: Managing a workstream to clone, migrate and cleanse vital applications and their data from the merged company to the new divested company. Analysing the applications and data used by the merged companies to ensure only the required data is migrated. Engaging with application suppliers to receive statements of work, these were analysed to ensure value for money to ensure the project is delivered on time and under budget. Working with the project team to develop a project plan. All key deliverables were delivered on time to date with regular progress updates provided to the Programme Manager

Aldershot

• Responsible for sustaining the delivery of multiple Information Communication Services (ICS) projects to 200,000 clients across the UK, Germany, Nepal and Brunei.• Managed ICS change and configuration management in support of Headquarter and Unit rebasing as part of the Government’s Strategic Defence Review. Satisfied, often conflicting, stakeholder requirements across full international spectrum of Ministry of Defence organisations and infrastructure. • Implemented new working procedures and IT systems to improve management practices and communication throughout the organisational structure.• Influenced and supported the drafting of strategic Information Superiority policy to ensure coordination of effort across the Ministry of Defence. • Key achievements: Acted as the lead for ICS delivery in support of UK Operations including the Commonwealth Games and NATO Summit. Successfully managed a £2.7m project to deliver a bespoke ICS solution across 1,700 UK sites.

Pembrokeshire

• Ensured organisational risk compliance whilst holding management responsibilities for 112 electronic warfare and intelligence specialists. • Responsible for training +100 employees to the required standards for overseas deployments to Afghanistan, Kenya, Germany and Canada. Improved organisation’s already excellent results in mandatory tests by 15%.• Responsible for good stewardship of ~£10 million of high tech vehicles and equipment, including appropriate storage and compliance with H&S procedures. External audit gave a “best practice” ranking.• Key achievements: Elevated to the rank of Major for six months to command the Rear Operations Group (65 personnel strong). Planned and executed a trekking expedition to Chilean Patagonia for 20 people.

Pirbright, Surrey

• Prestigious posting to one of the British Army’s phase one training establishments. Tasked as the lead and role model for the training of future soldiers in the British Army.• Designed, planned and delivered intensive training through a complex 14 week course focussing on small team tactical and operation leadership, and plan execution processes. • Ensured compliance with military and civilian policy as well as delivering clear communications and feedback to numerous stakeholders. ● Key achievements: Led six man training team to ensure +150 recruits were trained to the highest standards while achieving a 90% pass rate.

Catterick, Yorkshire

• UK: Managed and led a 40 strong troop of communications specialists. Responsibilities included career management, specifically the writing and delivery of appraisals, and all discipline and welfare issues.• Afghanistan (operational tour): Planned and managed the troop’s tour of Afghanistan; ensured soldiers were fully skilled to operate effectively, providing communications from isolated locations. • Analysed, planned and executed high-risk operations during a demanding tour, producing results despite limited resources and tight timelines.● Key achievements: On operations excelled in project management roles while developing, and subsequently mentoring, a nascent ICS capability within the Afghan National Army.
