My life has been a continuing adventure of experiences and learning. I’ve lived in nine states and six countries, along the way learning about many cultures and becoming comfortable in conversational Spanish and Portuguese. At Bentley University I’ve widened and deepened my knowledge of business and economics, often from an international perspective. I’ve also enjoyed the rewarding experience of teaching English to young immigrant mothers who needed help managing their children’s interactions with school. I’ve gained a lot from my participation in rowing (crew) – arguably the ultimate team sport – as well as hiking, golfing, and skiing. I was fortunate enough to turn my love of skiing into very engaging work by becoming a certified ski instructor at Steamboat Springs Resort. During school breaks for years I’ve taught skiing to children and adults, often in Spanish and Portuguese. As a ski instructor I did not just teach my clients a new sport. I created positive memories and life skills they will value for a lifetime. As my students learned, I learned as well. The skills I can transfer from the slopes to my future job include communication, positivity, and ability to organize efficiently.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Public Speaking, Powerpoint, Spanish, and 26 others.
