Joined Markerstudy in Dec 2020, following the sale of Co-op Insurance. Here I broadened my experience working with a wider number of areas across the business. Achievements here included:▶️ Proactively built and maintained relationships with business areas - collaboratively working together to deliver data driven decisions.▶️ Designed and built a Claims MI reporting suite providing analysis of key metrics such as Claims volumes, Costs, Lifecycle etc. ▶️ Introduced Workflow MI to various areas of the business to provide visibility to management to improve control of Tasks Received, Completed and Outstanding, allowing Productivity to be increased, Backlogs to be minimised, processes to be made more efficient and Customer experience to be improved.▶️ Introduced a Customer Relations suite of MI giving Management the information they need at their fingertips, and allowing drill down to analyse reasons for complaints.▶️ As well as allowing users to be self-sufficient and to get the MI easily at their fingertips I removed duplication of effort and time consuming collation of MI for the Operational Team Managers.▶️ Worked with Conduct Risk colleagues to provide them with access to dashboards and reports to enable them to slice and dice MI, enabling them to spend more time monitoring and challenging performance across Brokers and Products rather than pulling together the data from a number of sources.▶️ Shared my knowledge of SAS VA to upskill colleagues across the business on the use of SAS VA, giving training to users across the Operational areas. Also embedded SAS VA as a tool to replace SAS Web Reporting Studio.

Managed the Cost Control team between 2010 and 2011.▶️ Supported the development of changes to systems, enabling quicker and more efficient processing and reconciliation of Bulk payments, and allowing new suppliers to be introduced to this method of payment.▶️ Produced Process maps defining the key stages in the processing of Bulk Payment exceptions.▶️ Developed a Cost Control model in MS Access, providing MI on payments made via SAP.▶️ Played a key role in the MPCI Claims Benchmarking, including coordinating the submission of data and investigating areas of concern.▶️ Monitored and reported on variances and trends in the Average Cost of Closed Claims and attended the Claims Cost Insight meetings each period.▶️ Supported investigations into areas of concern including Large Loss movements and Weather related incidents.▶️ Tracked Benefits following the Claims Transformation project, before handing these over to relevant business areas. Continued this work by defining the methodology and reporting on new Stretch Benefits.▶️ Played a key role in the management of the GI Claims Operating expense budget and set up models to monitor and control FTE’s, and manage vacancies following the Claims Transformation project.

▶️ Responsible for all aspects of Budgetary Planning and Control of Operating Expenses within General Insurance (GI).▶️ Played a key role in the introduction of Operating Expense Budgets to GI, including reforecasting the Budget 3 times per year. Helped to formulate budgets working closely with key members of the management team across GI and contributed to Strategic planning.▶️ Provided support, advice and guidance to staff and managers for all Budget related matters.▶️ Produced regular reports at the end of each period including variance analysis reports against budget and forecast. Other reports produced on a regular and ad-hoc basis.▶️ Monitored large payments to suppliers and ensured that adequate provision was made for Accruals and Prepayments each period and at year end.▶️ Ongoing monitoring of postings to ensure that only valid costs were incurred by GI. This often required liaison between Managers, Project Accountants, Project leaders, Finance department, External suppliers and other CFS staff to resolve issues.▶️ Key contact for the ABC (Activity Based Costing) model used to allocate all Central costs to products. This included checking the model assumptions and challenging allocations from other divisions to GI, as well as refining the split of costs to GI products.
